Being physically fit and active has many benefits that can lead to a long, happy and healthy life. General guidelines suggested that for optimal health, adults should aim to achieve at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week.
Apart from generally feeling great, having good fitness levels will help to reduce the risk of developing certain illnesses such as Heart Disease, Type 2 Diabetes and some forms of cancer.
Stress levels and blood pressure can reduce which is fantastic for mental wellbeing, reducing anxiety and depression levels and for generally feeling better in ones self. Also, having a good level of general fitness leads to stronger bones and joints and improved sleep.
